Objective:
The student project competition offers an opportunity for students to work on an actual industrial case and propose resolution. This allows them to gain experience of resolving an industrial problem.
Eligibility:
Full-time undergraduate students of study programs in industrial, manufacturing, quality or related disciplines offered by universities in Hong Kong.
Each university can nominate a maximum of two teams with three to four full-time students in a team, and one staff to provide coaching.
Team members must be available to attend the Project Briefing, Field Trip and Live Presentation.

Program Details:
26 January 2018 (18:00 – 20:30) – Briefing session of the program, Industrial cases will be assigned to the teams. Venue: B6605, 6/F, Academic Building 1, City University of Hong Kong
3 February 2018 (08:30 – 17:00) – Field trip and on-site data collection. Defond Chenda Factory in Dongguan. Two-way transportation between Fu Tian (福田口岸) and the Factory will be arranged by HKSQ, the organizer.
Note: Valid travel document is required to travel across the border. Each participant is to ensure that he/she has valid travel document to take part in the field trip.
3 March 2018 – Deadline for each team to submit to HKSQ (hksq.stuproj@gmail.com):
- a report in about 2,500 words (with a file size not exceeding 10 MB) proposing a solution to the problem (MS Word format, file name teamx.doc), and
- a file to be used at the presentation (MS Power Point format, file name teamx.ppt).
10 March 2018 (13:00 – 18:00) – Project Presentation. Venue: P4701 & P4703, 4/F, Academic Building 1, City University of Hong Kong
Each team has to give a 20-minute presentation to the Judging Panel, and take questions from the judges. The submitted presentation file would be uploaded to the PC by HKSQ for presentation purposes. No other equipment or digital files not pre-approved by the organizer can be used for presentation purposes.
The Judging Panel consists of representatives from the sponsor and Hong Kong Society for Quality.

Prizes:
The Champion team and teams of the Runners-up will receive award sponsored by the sponsor company.
Each participant will receive a certificate from HKSQ

On receipt of an entry form, an acknowledgement will be sent to the representative of the team. If no acknowledgement email is received within 3 working days, please email to hksq.stuproj@gmail.com or call Ms. Minda Chiang at 9774 3811.
Decisions on the application will be sent to the team representatives on or before 23 January 2018.
